one of the first italian pop stars was Domenico Modugno who recorded volare in 1958 ,followed by ciao ciao bambina in 1959. another was marino marini who recorded come prima in 1958. in the 60's there was Nini Rosso who recorded il silencio in 1965. gigliola cinquetti who won eurovision in 1964 with non ho l'eta per amarti. let us not forget the great rock band PFM and of course the legendary Ennio Morricone.

i'm not italian but i listen to italian music.i like so much "eros ramazotti","laura pawzini","andrea buccelli" and many others.i used to watch also the concert given by "pavarotti" with his friends in 'rai1' an italian tv channel.i loooooooove the song"foco nel foco".everything in that song is beautiful:the words(although i don't understand every single word!),the rhythm,and the singer of course!

One of my all-time favourite bands is Premiata Forneria Marconi (P.F.M), an Italian rock group similar to King Crimson / Genesis / Jethro Tull etc. Lots of their stuff on Amazon.

I love Lou Monte and Louie Prima. Dino isn't bad either. Luna Mezz'o Mare was a classic.

I always listen Matia Bazar (with Antonella Ruggiero) and Loredana Berte. I also love Zucchero and Eros Ramazzotti.
