You don't have to have an objective. I recently spoke with several recruiters who all told me that.

Personally, I think it's useful. Try something like the following:

"To secure a challenging position in as an Office Assistant which will utilize my technical skills and analytical abilities."

Something to the effect of

To find a position to utilize my Microsoft Office skills as well as the ability to multi-task and fufill any clerical/administrative duties that arise.

I got Resume Builder it already had catchy sayings but search on the web sometimes if you go to microsoft temlates they'll have stuff too.

Play up your talents

Sometimes you need to have an objective but honestly if the company isn't looking for any specific tasks I wouldn't bother.

I worked in the staffing industry and found its not always necessary, and make sure its not lengthy...most recruiters look over your whole resume in 15 seconds.

See MSN Resumes.
What does an Office assistant do?
How would you make the post efficient?
That would be what you put in the 'objective'
To do that will be your goal.

Val, Objective is what you want. Ex. Full-time position as an Office Assistant.

You should tailor it to your true objective, but I would reccommend something like:

Energetic, organized office assistant seeks mutually satisfactory position with dynamic company.

Keep it simple and bland. The other option is to change it with each resume you send.

Good Luck!!

you don't have to put an 'objective' on a resume. the company knows what position you are applying for.

This works real well: "To obtain a position that challenges me, enables me to use my skills, and offers the opportunity to work in a team atmosphere with a strong emphasis on customer service." This is universal and works well (I should know it has gotten me interviews).
