How do you write a citation for someone with a title in their name?

Would it be cited: Smith, John D, Jr.

Most bibliographic citations I have seen do not include the author's titles. It's usually last name, first & middle initial i.e:
Public, JQ (for John Q. Public.) At least this is what is used for scientific publications.
