i'm doing an RE project at skl about the Sunni/Shi'a split and I would love it if you could help me. Just tell me what ever you know, however teenyweeny it may be. Thnx very much!!!

you may find the website below helpful, it seems to give details of the split between Shi'as and Sunnis but is a little old information. I guess it hasn't changed very much apart from Saddam Hussein being gone.

I don't know a great deal. They are both off -shoots from Mohammed. Each feel their own founders were the true inheritors. Now they have a global fight on their hands. It seems the Sunni (I lived in Turkey) seem more favourable towards a secular government. In Iran, they are Shia. It's all very sad.

All I know is they currently like blowing each other to bits, why is anyones guess and is possibaly something the former President and former Christian(Yep he converted) Sadam Hussein could shed a light on!

Folk are allowed to have different views in a democracy.
Unfortunately as in Northern Ireland, Criminals and drug gangsters will use folk and stir up bitterness, for their own ends.
