I totally did something stupid and now my boyfriend is made. I am really sorry and I want him to accept my apology. Any ideas on things I can do to speed up the process of him accepting my apology (I can't stand it when we live in silence and he gives me the silent treatment for days).

I truly believe the best thing to do is sit down with him and explain yourself.

The sad fact, however, is if he doesn't want to accept your apology and/or forgive you, you'll have to face it and move on. There is no forcing anyone to forgive you, nor is there any way to "speed up the process".

Ask yourself WHY you did what you did in the first place.
Then ask yourself HOW would you feel if he had done it to you.

I think this little exercise might help you to see things from a different perspective.
