Having been to Disney many times, seeing all the things they have to offer as well as all the mistakes their travel company can make, I've decided that all my trips will be booked with a travel agent. I've used my travel agent for several years now and have been very pleased with the service and knowledge they have provided. There is a lot to know about Disney, it can become overwhelming for a first trip. Also, if you haven't worked with Disney, there are a lot of problems and mistakes that can happen.
There are a lot of really great sites out there, some better than others. Just be very careful when using several sites, not every site is going to provide accurate information, the same is true when you get advice from sites similar to Yahoo! answers, it is hard to tell what is real and what isn't, which is why it is a good idea to get a good travel agent to get your information from.
I will include several links to some of my favorite sites for you to look over. You can book directly with Disney, but then you are on your own, you can get the same price with a travel agent, but a lot more benefits such as all the advice, tips, reserving your dining, etc.
If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me, I love to help!
Hope this helps!

These websites have great rates and most of the hotels offer some kind of package wtih the theme park involved. Be sure to check out Universal it is very cool. Several hotels had tickets and rooms for cheap like $200! I would also recommend taking a trip to Blue Springs it is a state park outside of Orlando about 30 min just wonderful and you can swim in the spring $5 per a car bring a lunch and make a day of it. Depending on when you go the Mantee's will be there swimming very cool for the kids! Have a great trip!

You can go directly into Disney World.com or you can just google "Orlando, Florida" & look over the links they give you, if you want to stay in Orlando, but not in Disney World.
I know Disney has a link into "planning your own vacation". You can select exactly what you want, where you want to stay, etc.
