You are never ready for a baby but it helps to have:

insurance
a father, who is going to be there and not take off (husband is the best bet in my opinion)
a career, not just a job
a big enough place to put a baby
all of your other priorities on the back burner.. kids take up everything. You won't even see any free personal time until they enter school.
lots of patience

My husband and I had been married a little over 2 years, and we had a great time getting to know each other, and being able to go out and do things any time we wanted with nothing tying us down. But then it just started to seem like something was "missing," and we realized that we were ready for a baby--not only emotionally and financially, but it just seemed like the next step in our marriage. Having that baby was one of the happiest times in my life, and now 2 years later we are getting ready to have our second. We feel that God has blessed us alot, and we are so excited.

You are never truly prepared to have a child. Anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves. There is never a PERFECT time, place and emotional plane to have a child. The more you plan and scheme to have a baby the more you realize how unprepared you are. I knew I was ready when the doctor told me..congratulations, you're pregnant. From there on you go with the flow of things. Mom to 3.

after my husband & I were married almost two yrs and felt like we really knew each other well. we spent a lot of time together and we decided we were ready to share our lives with another. My mother in law thought we weren't financially ready, but I said that if we waited until we could afford kids, we would never have them! My husband & I both had good jobs and insurance(which really helps!) You have to be emotionally ready, more than anything. Having children means putting their needs before yours. I'm glad we had them when we did. If I had met & married my husband sooner, I would prob have waite a little longer, but as it was, he was 30 & I was 25 when we married.

I had my baby at thirt eight. I was never sure when I would want to give up my freedom.
Then finally, my husband and I decided that it was time. I used to dream about what it would be like to have a bay, but I was still scared. That is how I knew. The dreams!
When I became pregnant, my fear just diminished! I was in awe of this little person growing inside of me. It was and is the best thing I have or will ever do in my life!

I knew I was ready to have a baby when I became financially secure, was comfortable with my job and my partner and I had mutual feelings. We both decided we were ready for this big step and took it.

After I starting feeling an urge to have a baby I discussed it with my husband and we talked and prayed about it to make sure the timing was right for us. We had been married about 2 years before we had our first child.

you'll know ur ready for a baby when you have a home that has enough space for a child. when you have enough money to support the child. if you love children and would love to raise one of your own. when u and ur spouse are emotionally ready for the responsibilities of taking care of a child.
