There are striking parallels between the attitude of Americans today to their government and the attitude of the Germans in the 1920s and 1930s to theirs. The Germans were afraid to question if what they were told by their government was the truth or not, refused to see the truth behind the Reichstag Fire, (9/11) refused to see the invasion by Poland (Iraq) was a staged fake, and followed Hitler (Bush) into national disaster.

I do not think much of comparing anyone with Hitler, but the answer to your question is no: Iraq is a disaster but it does not affect the average US voter much. Sure they could save some money but much of that money is paid to Americans (individuals or companies) anyway so no big deal overall. And why would they be afraid of questioning Bush? Where is the Gestapo in the US? So they are not cowards, maybe intellectually lazy, and self-interested, but not cowards. they may be wrong to ignore that Iraq will cost the US more in the future (more ennemies abroad is not a great idea), but that would make them wrong, not cowards.

first of each and every of the Germans weren't cowards neither are we individuals. There are no longer any parallels between individuals on the instant and Germans of the Nineteen 1920s or30s. Hitlers Germany became a very distinctive international than we are experiencing on the instant. His propaganda gadget became between the terrific. Few human beings had even t.v.s. Radio and newspapers have been the way human beings recieved communique and information approximately what became happening interior the international. Germans did no longer question as that they had no way of knowning what became genuine or no longer, they did no longer refuse to look in the back of the Reichstag hearth, the invasion of Poland as that they had no clue! bear in recommendations additionally Hitler all started brainwashing infants at a very youthful age and have been stated to no longer question. This became the state of recommendations of the standard German inhabitants. inspite of the undeniable fact that there have been some that have been given the image including Eienstin, and others. those human beings did question, and that they the two left the rustic or have been killed ! on the instant there is plenty counsel accessible that for the time of circumstances of conflict including Iraq, and Vietnam. Cameras are rolling actual time. With the information superhighway etc. etc. information is transmitted in seconds. on the instant human beings question each and every thing . An occasion of it is the photos taken on the penal complex in Iraq. interior the previous days human beings might have on no account had a clue as to what became happening! Oh and by making use of the way there is not any longer something staged or pretend, no remember if it became back in Germany or now in Iraq approximately an invasion! quite some harmless lives have been lost in the two circumstances, as nicely as militia. Hitler became the coward, Bush isn't. Hitler drew first blood! Bush did no longer draw first blood, first blood became drawn on us!

Americans are questioning their government. The last election was, in fact, a vote of no confidence in the Bush administration. Fewer than 20% of the population of the US approves of the administration's policies.
There have been huge protest rallies recently.
