I've always been interested in the Salem witch trials that took place there, and I would like to spend the weekend there in Oct. this year, preferably around Halloween time with my boyfriend and my 12 year old son.

My fiancee and I visited Salem last September. We stayed at the Salem Inn and let me say that it was a horrible place and the staff was not friendly. If you like ancient homes then you may like this as it had creeky floors, narrow stairs to lug all your lugguge up and yard sale like "antique" furniture. I was so sorry we stayed there. The only good thing was that it was in the heart of everything and we could walk.
The town of Salem itself was a letdown. Maybe October and all the Halloween festivities might be nicer but the only things we liked were the Salem Beer Works (spant a lot of time there), Finz Restaurant and some of the attractions such as the Witch House. All in all, it was nice to visit once but not again. You can see everything in one day. May I make a suggestion though on a bed and breakfast in Salem that gets great reviews? I wish we had stayed here. It is called the Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast. We did see it and it is very nice. It is right beside the House of Seven Gables and within walking distance to the ferry that makes daily trips into Boston. If you log onto TripAdvisor.com and do a search you will see the great reviews this place gets. If for some reason we do ever go back there, this is the place I would choose.
Have FuN!

I went last April, and it was great. My older sister and I left the kids with the men and went down there. But we stayed in the Marriott at Peabody, and I AM SO GLAD!!! Salem, Danvers, etc are wonderful to visit, but there's nothing like having a HOT TUB waiting after all that walking, or the pool, the fitness center, and the amazing breakfast they put on in the hotel resturant every morning. My reccomendations are: the Marriott to sleep. Finz for food (in Salem, http://www.hipfinz.com/ ) Salem Witch Meuseum presentation for entertainment, and ummm, have fun!

it might certainly be in the owner's rights to refuse to enable them to stay. the owner could tell them gently yet with out apology that he does not approve of pre-marital intercourse and for this reason does not in stable ethical experience be keen to offer them a room. extra people might desire to stand up for what's stable and to be vocal approximately it. i'm particular that the couple might act insulted, even in spite of the shown fact that it additionally will plant a seed of discontent approximately their modern possibilities in existence.
