Hi

Thanks a bunch to all that have taken the time to answer:)
Just to clarify, she is on formula milk and although we've tried her on solids, its not agreeing with her as she's bringing it up along with her Formula milk. We've stopped the solids. In the evenings, sometimes she brings up a lot of her feed, sometimes in her sleep but we've noticed when she sleeps slightly upright, she seems to be fine.
She's REALLY cranky though, despite being full of life :) but getting her to sleep is a nightmare sometimes rocking her for 45 mins. She is drooling though and will find anything to put in her mouth. Again, is the above all normal?

Hi
Has she been evaluated for Reflux? That might be why she is cranky. If she brings up solids and sometimes her formula, thats what it sounds like. Especially the fact that the baby wants to be upright, they are all symptoms of reflux.
Call your doctor and talk to them about it she may need meds. After you feed her keep her upright for atleast 30 minutes, it will help!

You haven't said her age, so I don't know if it is too early to give solids or not.

It sound like a perfect case of Acid Reflux. Buy a bouncer seat that keeps her sitting up or reclining.

You need to let her sleep up at an angle, and you have to keep her sitting up for at least 45 minutes after each time she eats.

Never lay her down to sleep immediately after she eats.

Put 1 tablespoon of gerber single grain rice cereal in every 2oz of prepared formula. Hence: 4oz liquid formula + 2 Tablespoons rice cereal.

Make sure you burp her for every 2 oz of formula that she drinks.

Without knowing her age, I can only say that you can give her infant's tylenol...that takes away the pain of teething when it gets bad.

My daughter likes to chew on the corner of a washcloth that we have dipped in ice water.

When a baby cannot breathe well, from acid reflux, or cough from teething, their bodies will wake them up to start breathing again. This process can cause a sheer panic reaction that manifests itself as a nightmare.

Acid reflux usually wakes up a baby about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes after the get to sleep....IF they ever got to sleep in the first place.

Hiya,

As you know, every baby is different, but when I had my twins, I had the same problem and found that the formula was the problem. They seemed to have a reaction to it. Might be best to try a different type. We were on cow and gate for about 3 months and then had to do apitmal which resolved the problem in a couple of days! Regarding teething - slices of cucumber are great for soothing gums and there is something in it that helps as well. Hope this helps!

Hi there,
Maybe your little one has a reflux problem. My little one never had this, but I have read in a lot of baby books that some infants have a problem digesting their milk/formula/food. They suggest to sit them upright when you feed them and keep them upright ( meaning head propped ) until their food has settled.
As for her teeting...it is hard to tell...my 6 1/2 month old has been drooling for the past month...and LOVES to put EVERYTHING in her mouth.....lol lol...it is funny to watch her....I find it helps to give her a wet baby facecloth. Not soaking....just damp enough for it to get cool. Just a thought for you...
Good luck!!!

I agreee with the others take her to the Dr. for acid reflux three are meds they can give her to help manage it ( axid is one that tastes a little better than a rest) It's not really normal ro a bab to nring back up all the time after she eats, also it can be painful and more bothersome at nighttime maybe thats why your having a hard time getting her to sleep.

Forget teething for a minute and have her checked for acid reflux. If she is better slightly sitting then laying down, it sounds like there might be a gastro-intestinal problem. Ask you pediatrician or family doctor about this asap.

My friend's son was having the same problem. She thought it was teething as well...but when she went to doc she found out it was a gastro-intestinal problem.
Check with your GP in ASAP.
Best wishes
