"boiling people in my coffee" is ALWAYS a winner. there's a piece that opens the play by dorian, the mother.

it can run from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. just cut for time!

Do you mean like an in play speech? There are many good ones out there but unless you tell us what the part your auditioning for is, then we can't really help much.

Without your type, as in what you do well, no one can give you idea of what suits you best. Read plays, get drawn to characters, and monologues will hurl themselves at you.
