My husband doesn't really nest, but he has actually started picking up a little slack around here with the housework. I think it's because he keeps telling me to rest, and he finally realized that he can't have me resting and a clean house too!
What I think is really strange is that my husband has gained almost as much weight as I have, despite working out and dieting. At the beginning of my pregnancy he said he thought men having sympathy symptoms was a load of crock - he believes in it now though!

That is so cute. He probably needs to feel involved and that is his way of participating in your pregnancy. You should be happy because you don't have to do all that work in your state. I bet you are getting more tired by the day. The fact that he feels such a need to be involved at this stage suggests to me that he's going to be a great dad. It's still not real, or is very scary to most men at that stage. I never had a nesting instinct with 2 of my children, and with the 3rd I only had it the last week. Sounds like you guys are doing great. Just a warning, many marriages are put to the test for the first year after a baby is born. Keep in mind that the stress is temporary, and you guys will be fine.
Sounds like you got a keeper there. Good luck and congratulations!

Since the day I found out that I was pregnant my boyfriend has been running around the house fixing everything, finishing off any little touches that need to be done, baby proofing the house and assembling everything we get. He has to go along on every little shopping trip and have a say in EVERYTHING we buy. It is cute and I am happy I have such an involved Daddy. I think it is partly because we are having a girl and needs to take such good care of her. Also, she can only have the best of everything. For example, he bought her this care bear and later found a better version of the same bear and I said now she has two to play with. He said absolutely not, this one is better, we will give the other one to Goodwill or something. He has done this with everything we buy. I just laugh at his snooty attitude. I do think I will have to correct this behavior, since we are clearly not rich people here.
Take care and have fun with Daddy.

Yeah, my hubby is going through the same thing right now, but not quite to that extent. We're at 23 weeks, so maybe he will end up like your hubby before it's all over. Just be thankful your husband is taking an active role in this and not feeling neglected.

Not exactly the same, but during my early pregnancy, I definitely didn't need to worry about forgetting my vitamins or eating a balanced diet. He would come home from work and drill me on how many ounces of protein I had eaten, ask me to name the fruits and veges I had with lunch and then pour me glasses of milk to drink
He had calmed down except re: my calcium intake, but now we have received word of a possible serious complication so now he has regressed. "Don't lift that.", "Sit down. Stop it.", "Why aren't you resting? Go take a nap.", "You are not allowed to spend more than five minutes washing dishes.", etc.
And no complaints. I am exceedingly thankful that he is so involved, cares so much, and isn't like some others who don't understand pregnancy restrictions.

Nope!! I am the one who worries about nesting. The father-to-be is still trying to adapt to the idea of being the father of a babaygirl at 47 years old...in the beginning I did feel lonely but I was patient, gave him time and now he's smiling whenever he embraces my belly and asks for his daughter."Has the little one awaken?". It's really sweet... personally I would go mad with someone as your husband, sweet as it may be. I´m the one who gets frantic :-) Enjoy it!!

When my wife was pregnant with our first, I was an EMT so Nesting was the least of her worries. On top of nesting I was worrying over every little bump or pain she had. Eventually I calmed down and everything was fine. Enjoy it now while you can.
