i dont understand the question, and i thought i was clever

An Internet is accessable to anyone in the world who has a computer, a phone line, an Internet provider, and some type of modem, such as a cable modem.
An intranet is a much more restrictive Internet that is often used by companies employees to communicate with each other in the same building or area. The public would not have access to this intranet without the owners permission.
An extranet would be an Internet connection that would allow, say, Proctor and Gamble employees over the world to talk to each other. It is sometimes used by companies with multiple offices in multiple cities.
