Oh yeah - he's discovered the sound of his own voice, and he's finding out just what he can do with it. It's a precurser to him forming bigger words. He'll grunt, growl, babble, hum, squeak, and any other sound he's finding out he can make. Sounds perfectly normal to me.

My nephew does it. He's a year old now, but he's done it for a while. He already talks and is really smart, he's been walking and talking since 10 months old. He makes growling noises all the time. I asked my mom why he does it and she said it's probably because he likes the way it feels when he does it. It does feel weird when you make growling throaty noises, so I think she might be right...

About three weeks too young. Why isn't this pup still with its litter and mom? It is much too young to be exposed to new places and animals. Think of the germ factor. Leave them alone? Are you nuts? The puppy needs to be kept in a sleeping crate or exercise pen whenever you aren't watching him. Would you leave a 13-month old human baby alone with a 9-year old human boy? Can you imagine the kind of damage that can happen to them?

my daughter used to do groan and grunt all the time. I didnt realize until i thought about it....i grunted and groaned all the time during my last few months of pregnancy from aches and pains. it should subside though. i think its all about what the baby heard from you while in utero. so don t worry unless he looks like hes out of breath. have fun with your 6 month old while you can cause shortly, you'll be grunting and groanng again from chasing him after he starts walking.

I have an eight month old who has been growling since 4 months. It is perfectly normal , some babies just do it more than others.

any sound he makes is part of language development. My 7 month old likes to scream and he use to make the sounds your baby makes. At this age they usually make a lot of vowel sounds. Then other letter sounds start around 8 months. Like the d,m,b. Talk to him when he babbles and respond to him. It will just encourage him to do it more and help with language development.
