If you are using contact lens that allow you to keep them in overnight, then why not? However, if you are using "daily" lens then you really should take them out and let them sit in the solution overnight. If you do happen to fall asleep accidently with them in your eyes the worse that can happen is that it will dry your eyes out a bit or they could bunch up and get caught up under your eyelid - a little uncomfortable getting the thing out but not dangerous.

You should not go to bed wearing lens because first of all its not good for the eyes. Your eyes get strained wearing them for a long time and while sleeping sleeping you may rub your eyes and this may cause harm to the eyes. Secondly, the lens may get damaged.

Sleeping in contact lenses can lead to an increased risk of severe eye infection, a new research reveals. But new generation contact lenses, the investigation reveals, perform better in this regard than their predecessors. One of the common problem found when people slept with lenses is keratitis.
It was shown that the risk of severe keratitis was increased when lenses people slept wearing lenses although this risk varied according to the type of lens worn.
Those who have no choice but to sleep in lenses then they should use silicone hydrogel lenses, which carry a five times decreased risk of severe keratitis for extended wear compared with hydrogel lenses

I don't recommend it because, I slept with my lens a couple of times and the last time I lost it and when I did find it, two days later, it was torn and dried up so I had to throw it away....

Absolutely do not. I slept in my contacts when I was younger. I would only take them out like three times a week. It caused neovascularization. It damages the blood vessels in your eyes. It is non-reversible. When you sleep in them, your eyes aren't getting enough oxygen. I would recommend going to your eye doctor and asking him for a good brand of contacts that you can sleep in. They will allow for more oxygen to get to your eyes.

absoultely no, didn't the eye doctor tell you not to sleep in contacts? It can cause a sucction on your eye and could also lead to blindness. The eye doctor knows just by looking closely at your eyes if your sleeping in your contacts, so don't get busted

If you mean like a 2 hour afternoon nap then it isn't so bad, but you shouldn't sleep with them at night because your eyes need fresh oxygen and they can't get it with contacts on.

I'll take naps with my contact lenses in but overnight? No way they come out.
At the end of the day I am very glad to get those lenses out.
