What bulbs can I plant now, in early spring, and still expect great flowering later this spring, summer and into fall?

most bulbs bloom only once per season,
perennial plants bloom mostly once but some bloom more than once or for a lengthy duration.
annuals are plants that tend to bloom in the constant during the season.
tho chrysanthimums will bloom in june and again in early to late fall if trimmed back to about 4" after june's blooms die back

Daylilies bloom for a very long time - typically late spring into early fall depending on your location.

It sounds like you're more interested in perennial plants,(bloom year after year) and annuals(only one season). Go to your local nursery and just walk around to see what's available in your area that suits your needs. I personally prefer perennials, makes gardening MUCH easier.

Anemones and ranunculus are good ones. You could try daffodils.
