I think that women who say it are implying that if a man wants sex, he should pay for it.

It also implies that only men enjoy sex.

And well a man SHOULD pay for it, but perhaps not in the way you mean. To buy the cow means to incur a commitment. A woman should not give a man sex without commitment; he should, at the very least, be clear that the two of you are in an exclusive relationship. Women who don't force men to behave responsibly teach them a bad lesson, reinforcing that they never have to grow up. Have some self-esteem, and show your man that he has to become mature if you're going to sleep with him.

Its advice to get married, not to become a professional escort ;)

I suspect that it was true that when most young women would not have any sort of sexual contact without marriage, young men were much more keen to get married at a young age. I mean, many men now are happy to get married at 30-35, if there was going to be no petting even till that point, you might see more 21 year old guys ready to commit.

As I said in another thread though, I think there's a second issue today which is that many men may hear from their married friends that when you 'buy the cow' and agree not to get milk anywhere else, a lot of cows nowadays stop producing milk! In your grandmother's day, I don't think that happened.

So while 60 years ago, you'd get a lot more sex being married, that's a far less certain proposition today.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free = Why marry a woman or get engaged to a woman or have a commitment with a woman who's already willing to have sex with you, clean for you, cook for you, and do anything you want for practically nothing in return? Sounds stupid you say? MILLIONS of women are doing this every day!

This is where the guy takes advantage of a lady to have his way with her in a sexual manner. He has no intention of marrage just having fun at her expense. When she finally cuts him off he calls her names and leaves to his new girl friend whom will carry on this lifestyle for him. There are guys who have never done any thing but this type of relationship. It is even better if he gets her to support him with money and a place ti stay! He make lavish promises which so many ladies believe. Does this answer your question??

thats a term that guys say in regarding marriage, why get married when i am getting sex already: why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. I have never heard a woman use this phrase and if they are then thats kinda wierd...but hey.

It means that men will not marry women who give sex without any expectations.

All it says is that why commit if you can get everything you want without committing. This usually applies to men, because they have a reputation of wanting sex without commitment more than women do.

No, they are saying that if a man gets all the benefits of a wife without actually having to marry her, why would he marry her?

it simply means that wen man is getting whatever he desires from his woman without any commitments (marriage/engagement) at all, the question of tieing the knot does not arise. He is a happy man: he has a woman who is there to satisfy his needs -no marriage / no trouble!!!
beware.
