Does this mean that people that oppose the war should be in Iraq right now supporting the citizens that don't want us there? When you say we need to fight in the war if we support it does that make anti-war "people" hypocritical?

The notion that you must serve in the military in order to have a valued opinion is absurd.
It is a canard that the left uses to imply hypocricy on the part of those who support the action but are not themselves active.
Nonsense.
If not being allowed to voice an opinion without having served is the criteria, then 90% of the liberals on this board would be banned from the conversation!

Good question. You can support the war without being over there, a fact many fail to realize. People who tell others to go over and fight seem to believe that in order to support the war you must agree with the politics behind it, which is far from the truth. Supporting the war is about supporting our SOLDIERS, not our politicians. Whatever your personal beliefs are, don't make the soldiers suffer for them.

I feel the need to clarify my position due to comments I have received. Not now, nor have I ever supported the invasion of Iraq. I am behind our troops 100% and if I need to support the war to support the troops, then so be it. Due to indiscretions in my past, I am not eligible to enlist, so before you judge me explain to me how else I should give support since obviously the military will not let me do what people have suggested. I am not pro war by any means, war s*cks and should be used as a last resort, not to further a political agenda.

no, its a very harsh concept on which people base the idea of support. Some see it as actually going to war and others see it as just praying and hoping for the ones that are over there. DO what you think you should to support.

pretend how are you going to help the troops once you tell them at each turn that they are doing incorrect and also you're in competition to them doing their accountability,if you're adverse to the conflict you're adverse to the troops and make this argument for no different reason then do disassociate your self from the talk, your help has been faulty, you push for his or her care out of guilt and also you patronize them via pretend patriotism you seem on the conflict as being incorrect and on the soldier who fights it as if he were a sufferer that calls for your sympathy and compassion you act of their behalf in person-friendly words because it provides you an chance to lash out or criticize the administration that you oppose. No you won't be able to you both help all or your a hypocrite. you're embarrassed because the troops are more advantageous powerful adult adult males and females individuals then you definitely, they are all volunteers no longer draftees and they doesn't volunteer in the journey that they did not help the reason. they have no longer something yet contempt when you ought to straddle the fence of their eyes you're a coward for no longer taking a stand one way or the different there is not any center. and do not hassle with the they in person-friendly words enlisted for the pastime or the college crap they could could be mind useless idiots to belive they joined the protection rigidity to do something yet wrestle. in person-friendly words Micheal Moore ought to arise with some bs like that.

Of course not.

Do you have to be on the football field playing to support a football team?

Do you have to carry a axe into a burning building to support firefighters?

It is a fool who believes that cutting funding for either would somehow be supporting them. Or that we should pull players off the field or stop firefighters from entering dangerous places and keep them home to protect them. The way you support them is by giving them whatever they need to win their battle.

The same is true of our troops. They don't need civilians over there getting in the way. But they do appreciate you letting them know that you care about them and want them to return home VICTORIOUS.

You don't have to fight in it.

But you also should do something more than flapping your gums.

It's called "lipservice".

Merely saying you support the war does what exactly?

Write troops letters.
Visit a VA hospital.
Help out a family with a loved on in Iraq.

Or just run your mouth until you're blue in the face..

"Do you have to fight in the war in order to support the war? "

How much can you TRULY support the war if you refuse to put your own LIFE on the line and go FIGHT for what you claim to believe in? Talk is cheap.

"Does this mean that people that oppose the war should be in Iraq right now supporting the citizens that don't want us there? "

No, that means that people that oppose the war in iraq should be here putting pressure on their elected officials to do what their constituents want them to do (bring U.S. troops home, now)

"When you say we need to fight in the war if we support it does that make anti-war "people" hypocritical?"

you pro war CHICKENHAWKS that won't fight make yourselves appear hypocritical.

1. No, I don't believe you do.

2. I don't understand how it would. But putting the word people in quotation marks doesn't make them any less worthy of humanity than you are. Just as long as you know that, we're good.

No, but you have to fight in the war to criticize others for their beliefs that we should not be there.
