young little ones sense concern and carry a knife in the misguided theory that it will safeguard them. i think of we'd desire to punish violent crime properly, yet additionally voters can do something to assist young little ones of their very own communities. CSV, a volunteering charity, has run small schemes with great result. i'm signing up as a mentor on their Allies scheme - spending time with an adolescent in the care device. They artwork in the time of London and Bristol. it is not merely right down to politicians, everybody could make a difference, and the time is now.

I think they should take it back to the epic days.. when u kill a man, you get shot or hung... **** imagine? When you know no matter what if you killed someone you would be getting exactly the same deal then you will think about it couple of times.
I mean in all honestly, some criminals rather stay in jail, seeing the fact they get to pay no bills, eat free, shower, beds, playground and continue to live amongst gangsters and their kind. It cant get better than that. You commit a crime and you get all this in return?
It sad.

It is appalling, but studies have been done that show it isn't the severity of the penalty which prevents most people from committing crimes. People who become involved in violent crimes have complex factors for having done it, including involvement in gangs, in drugs, and socioeconomic factors (someone from a ghetto might see that behavior modeled by his peers, and see no future for himself outside of jail). Economic opportunities and education have worked better than merely increasing the jail times for crimes, which does not seem to act as a deterrent (besides the fact that less violent criminals often leave jail having learned to become more violent criminals). It's a very interesting topic and you can see how complex it is when you begin to study it.

Basically it's a problem because of the brain dead lawyers, who are also our MP's.and an unelected bunch of no hoper lawers who have gained the title of Judge through the old boy network, or who have shared a flat with Tony Blair.
Isn't it queer how everyone who has shared a flat with Tony has been paid off handsomley at our expence, but back to the question.
Hang them or Flog them's the answer. I've never heard of someone who has been hung murdering anyone else upon their release.
Now, I know the liberal elite, the new Mother Superiors in drag, will wring their hands and howl their anguish at the thought of a murderer getting his or her neck stretched.
"But what if we kill an innocent person," they wail.
But they already are killing innocent people, and on a daily basisi, simply by doing nowt to protect them.

If there were a referendum on this question we know how the vote would go.There will be a fair amount of people who would vote against ''serious consequences ''.. .. unless it was their family picking up the pieces!!!!!
By the way there will never be a referendum that the governments view cant win.

Anybody that kills another deserves the death penalty. No excuses for them. They do what they want and are quite sane when they stab or shoot another with the intent to kill. I am tired of people making excuses for murderers and should they go to jail they should stay there for life. Down with crime and violent people who makes innocent people's life hell on earth. Hang them , finished and klaar.

There are no serious consequences. They are put into a comfortable prison for a year or two - their rights are all seen to - and many excuses made about their bad upbringing and backgrounds. There is no respect in these people's vocabulary - and they get away with literally murder.
