When installing memory i hear that the one with more ram needs to go closer to the front, is that the front face off the pc?

You should look at the board around the ram slots. It should say "DIMM 1" "DIMM 2", etc, or something of that nature. Its common practice to put the larger memory module in slot 1, the next largest in slot 2, etc.

You can look on the board to see what ram slot you are installing the memory into, it is labeled on the board, usually on the pcs I work on the 1st ram slot is closest to the CPU but this isn't true in all cases.

depending of the board
for dual you split memory for each cpu
..
could be by pair.
put big memory first pair small second
well look on the board name on the web the owner manual tell you where to put it for maximum performance...

but yes bigger near cpu , but other pc board wont care...

Nothing like that... You can use any slot for any size RAM... I dont think it makes any difference... If it doesnt work in one slot then try to exchange the slots...
