As he was heart patient and diabetic plus few other risk factor, so possibly he got stressed and tense! its natural for a human.though sportemen are bit different in this regards but he was an unlucky coach......he had done a lot for South Afirca and Pakistan, and he was the best ever coach i m known too. for such person who put all his effort in coaching, it would definetely be shocking that First south Africa being the hot favourit could not make for the final becuase of hard luck which made him to resign the post and now Pakistan got out of WC when he was about to finish with his contract ! he was depressed with this defeat.....So i think this defeat did contribute to this death..but as we know that every person has to die on day and some event or some factor becomes the "excuse" ! Teams show such bad performances though this was the worse ever show in the history of Cricket...But still !! defeat is a part of this game !

But i would miss that man !! i have no words to show my gratitude for Woolmer.May his soul rest in peace !

May his soul rest in eternal peace. Yes I believe the terrible defeat by the hands of Irish was the main reason for this great coach's death. Bob had given everything to cricket coaching but sad to say he was an unlucky coach. In 1999 South Africa could not make it to the finals and now this humiliating exit of Pakistan team. I agree with the answerer above that every one has to die one day and some factors become excuse but being a Pakistani I would also say that Bob could never earned the respect he deserved just because of politics in Pakistan cricket. A lot can be written about Bob Woolmer but I would just say "Salutes to late Woolmer for dying an honorable death". His team lost but he actually "won".
