Why is it that most, not all, but most, homosexuals think that straight people have a need to hurt them? Why not "open" your mind to debate and logically explain your lifestyle. We can all learn.

Christina: With all due respect, I think gay people sometimes misjudge comments.. and unfortunately some form of paranoia causes them to assume that which was never said.. We all do it but gay people seem to do it more often. At least here in Yahoo..

I have no desire to debate my "lifestyle" with you. I read your previous Questions and answers...and quite honestly I want nothing to do with you. I have many intelligent, straight Friends who are honest and sincere. I don't need you.

it's not like that at all. how can you say that the gay counity is not open when it is the country who will not listen to them. in the USA today there is no freeedom or rights so how can you think that thier not hurting them they cant have a life together or adopt a child, they could loose thier job, family, or home depending on how whoever has the power to do so feels about this issue and it isn't safe for a lot of people because hate crimes are a big issue in the gay community.thank you for being willing to ask questions and get answrs but it is just really hard to be homosexual in a nation that can overcome racism and sexism but not give righs to someone based on who they love. so if anything the ones being judged are the ones being denied righs and that is the gay community.

First off, I personally don't believe all or most straight want to hurt me, as for those who do, I can hurt them back so they tend to just stay quiet, at least in my presence.

Now to your second point, you presume a great deal on the notion that any debate or explanation is required on our part. Seems to me, you're the one with the problem. I don't owe you anything, least of all an explaination or justification for my existance. Tell me, are you willing to debate and logically explain your lifestyle to me? Why? I don't care what you think of me, but I do care that some straight people do want to prevent me from living my life happily and without interference.

Bottom line, I don't need or want approval or even acceptance, but by God I will be respected. I want nothing more and will certainly accept nothing less.

Have you read the questions that are asked in this forum. When you keep getting shot at, you start to shoot back. What gave straights the right to judge gay people. There are logical debates on here, but they always spiral into my religion thing. I don't have to explain or justify my lifestyle to you or anyone. When people get that in their heads. things will be a lot better.

Most straights are ignorants and most are too religious and always stereotype and hurt gays for some reason.

Second, why is it that you think that gays have to "explain" their lifestyle? Do you have to explain your streight lifestyle to someone???? There you just proved gay lifestyle is wrong, why? cause you have been brainwashed by religion beliefs.

Leave people along. You need to open your mind.

A couple of points...

People in the GLBT community are discriminated against on a daily basis. We don't think that EVERY straight person wants to hurt us but we know that many do. How many straight people worry about whether or not holding hands with their significant other in a shopping mall is going to get them beaten up? How many straight people have to worry about what might happen if their boss learns they're straight? How many GLBT folks do you see walking around with "God Hates Breeders" signs? These things and more happen to people in the GLBT community EVERY SINGLE DAY. Show me a straight equivalent of Matthew Shepherd and THEN talk about gays "judging" straights.

Secondly, why do we have to "debate or logically explain" our lifestyles? Do you have a preference in hair color or body type in the people you date? Want to "logically explain" that to me? How about "logically explaining" your straight lifestyle? We don't need your permission to be who we are any more than you need our permission to be straight.

Well I don't know who set you off and what it is that makes you feel that the LGBT community is attempting to judge you but I can say that in the matters of the heart logic doesn't apply. In the matters of personal rights and societal obligations I think that we could agree to debate things logically. So give me a question and I will attempt to answer it for you.

I do open my mind to a lot of "closed minded people. A lot of straight people don't want to hear about my gay life, or my boyfriend. But they have no problem shoving their girlfriend down my throat. If I have to hear about boobies one more time, I'm going to throw up. I'm just kidding. But honestly, yes, there are a lot of people that don't mind hearing about about my romantic night with my husband, and those are the types I talk to abvout that kind of stuff. I try all I can to educate the "other" team.

Because heteros have been judging us for a VERY LONG TIME. There is nothing to debate and nothing to explain with respect to my 'lifestyle'. And very rarely do we (gays and lesbians) misjudge anyone

Open my mind to 'debate' about my sexuality??????????????????? What? I don't think that's the best way to phrase that!!

I am more than willing to speak about my lifestyle to people who want to listen and learn as you suggest. However there are lots of people who don't want to learn they want to 'show me the error of my ways' in which case i won't explain anything because they don't want to hear!!

BTW i have never yet heard a logical argument against a non hetero lifesyle.

Can we open up the debate about your lifestyle now!!

Most people would agree homosexuals generally do have open minds. However, I have no intentions of debating my lifestyle with you or anyone else. I don't expect you to explain to me who you love and why. I trust you have your reasons and they are none of my business. I would hope for the same courtesy.
