Well from an economic standpoint, the MLB must love it. I know that some managers complain that it cuts the momentum of the season but with 162 games to be played, how many times can Boston play New York (unless you're ESPN then all 162 games should be played by these 2 teams) or Chicago play Detroit? Interleague gives fans and players a chance to experience a slightly different set of rules.
I find it to be OK only because of the length of the season

I believe that the only inter-league play they should have in between the same divisions. Meaning the NL East plays the AL East the NL Central plays the AL Central the NL West plays the AL West. This is good on so many counts, it allows cities with 2 teams to play each other during the season, and it allows fans to have weekend trips. How cool is it if you are a Phillies fan to drive up to Boston to see the Phillies play the Red Sox. Alternatively, maybe a Twins fan driving down to Chicago to see the Twins play in Wrigley. I don’t think they should play the other divisions mostly because they are too far and even most casual fans on the East Coast don’t follow teams on the West Coast because of the time difference.

In certain instances i love interleague play. Especially the real rivalries.
Cards v Royals
Yankees v Mets
Angels v Dodgers
Giants v A's
Cubs v. White Sox
Astros v. Rangers
Indians v. Reds
In cases where there is no rivalry i hate it, no point to it.
Blue Jays v. Rockies
Padres v. Mariners
Tigers v. Pirates
The matchups have to be right for Interleague play to be good.

i extremely do no longer look after the inter-league play. This 3 hundred and sixty 5 days for some reason i presumed the IL replaced into plenty longer than it have been at present in spite of the shown fact that i need to be improper. i could no longer wait till finally it replaced into over, and it extremely extremely in basic terms bugged me extra suitable than the "bugging" feeling I had in say the previous 5 years. I want they might circulate back to conserving the custom of the two leagues separate. yet, when you consider that Gary Bettman's brother is the Commissioner of MLB that isn't take place till the subsequent guy is attainable in. BA: i do no longer think of the IL takes something faraway from the All celebrity interest as though there is meaning to the interest with domicile container income for the respective league that wins the All celebrity interest, the interest itself has been minimized with the undertaking for injuries to intense paid gamers. In gist i'm sort of on the fence to no remember if there is or must be an influence upon the All celebrity interest (with regard to the IL play). replace: As i ponder this years IL I could think of how cool it replaced into whilst the L.A. Kings gained the Stanley Cup for the period of the IL of the Angels vs Dodgers in L.A. Dodger stadium is in basic terms some miles (perhaps) up the one hundred ten Freeeway in L.A. day after immediately the Kings have been tossing baseballs on the sphere with the two the Angels and Dodgers on the comparable time and the two communities have been given to take photograph's with the L.A. Kings and Stanley Cup. Cool and distinctive concepts you. I nevertheless think of they might desire to do away with IL, they gained't in spite of the shown fact that.

Being a New Yorker I like it because I get a couple of subway series each year. I think the attraction is there for cities like NY, Chicago, LA, & San Fran. I can see why the rest of the league might not be so hot on it, now that it's not a novelty.

I'm an arch-traditionalist. I detest interleague play, as it makes the World Series less special. I hate the DH rule, the whole concept of closers, and night games at Wrigley. I further think they should shoot whoever came up with the idea of taking the first game of the season away from the Reds (before anyone says something, I'm a Tigers fan).
Why must we continually mess with perfection? *sigh*

I hate the interleague play, its crappy that the Mets end up having to play the Yankees six times while the Phillies end up with like Tampa Bay and Baltimore, its crappy.
I think it takes the excitement out of teams not seeing each other if they meet in the world series as well.

I like the inter-league play it brings new teams to town and allows for rivalries such as Indians-Reds, Cubs-White Sox, Mets-Yankees.

Interleague play is still enjoyable. With being in the Milwaukee market, I still get to see the Cubs/Sox rivalry, though it seems odd to me because the Brewers were A.L. when I was growing up and we hated the Sox, but tolerated the Cubs, now they are opposite? I agree, They should leave "our" perfect world alone. No DH and Pete to the Hall!

It's great in many different was. In state rivalries, much needed revenue for bad teams, a look at the other leagues players and stadiums. It's nothing but good and it works.
