I want to write a book for teens or pre teens about girls. A fiction chapter book. What is a good plot? What would you want it to be about?

Just please no more enabling or idea giving books...

I can't tell you how many times I have seen girls read books like "Go ask Alice." and actually end up emulating these characters...

No books about cutting... No books about teenage drug addiction and prostitution and no books about running away.

It is counter intuitive to actually give kids idea's and blueprints on how to go about destroying their lives...

How about something uplifting. Call it...

"It's okay if you still play with Dolls at 13."

Too many little girls don't anymore... Lindsey Lohan is no role model and Unfortunately... That's all they have now days. Bratz (little hooker) dolls... and books with directions on how to become bulimic and anorexic...

I learned myself in the 70's from watching after school specials.

You should pick a topic and characters that you are passionate about. If you start writing about something that doesn't matter to you, the book will not be very good (if you even manage to get it done). You need to be able to sustain youself through the writing process, which is VERY difficult.

Besides, you should only attempt to write a book if you love to write. The ideas should flow from within you! Don't write a book just so that you can say you wrote one.
