First in order of increasing wavelength.
cosmic, gamma, xray, ultraviolet, visible, infrared, microwave, radio, TV, electric waves

The energy of waves is measured by their amplitude or height. Just like a dull light and a bright light, the energy is the intensity of the light measured by the height of the wave.

The small ones -cosmic, gamma, Xray, can go right through you and can cause cancer, and genetic changes.

Ultraviolet can injure your eyes, and can kill germs.can cause skin cancer

Visible light as in sun light can injure your eyes,
infrared can burn. microwave can burn , and there are other studies regarding cancer.(from phones and radar, not in food)

They are still studying the larger ones to see if they have an effect on life. Electrical line workers are wearing monitors to see exposure and having health studies.

radio waves
tv waves
microwaves
infra red
visible
ultra violet
gamma rays

(not sure whether radio or tv waves are longer, but the rest are definately correct - pretty sure it's right though.)

Science teacher is wrong, because microwaves have a longer wavelength than infra red and therefore have Less Energy from-:
E = h f
