Their fearless president Nixon is credited with ending US involvment in Vietnam. he pulled the troops out of vietnam because he realized too many americans were dieing. its very similar to what democrats want to do now. we realize that iraq has became a complete and total disaster, and nothing more than a huge civil war. dont you think republicans are being huge hypocrites now for saying liberals are "un-american" when they did the same freaking thing during vietnam?

people im trying to show a parallel between the withdrawal of troops, not every single action during the course of the war. how is it un-patriotic to withdraw them now, but perfectly fine to do so during vietnam?

It was Pres. John F.Kennedy that got the U.S. involved with Vietnam in the first place then the Dem. Congress provided aiding and abetting to the Vietcong by pulling the funding for the war and that triggered the serenader and retreat of the U.S. Troops.
It was Pres. Gerald Ford not Nixon that pulled the Troops out of Vietnam get your facts strait
when you look at a democrat you are looking at the personification ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personification )of hypocrisy
so put that in your pipe and smoke it

To compare Vietnam to Iraq is moronic.
Eisenhower first sent advisers to Vietnam. It wasn't a Republican or Democrat war, it was a war to stop the Domino Effect. It was screwed up by every administration that was involved.
Iraq had NOTHING to do with 911. Anyone trying to tie the terrorists to the WTC air crashes is a bigger moron than anyone on this board.
The key is for the US to get out of a bad situation. Too bad that Bush is so far in over his head that his only recourse for his legacy is to continue the battle, damn the costs to the troops, they are our kids, not his.

Didnt a Democrat get us into Vietnam....yes.
Nixon pulled us out because liberal democrats protested in the streets about an "unjust war".
Didnt a Democrat sit in an NVA antiaircraft position and pose for pictures.
Didnt a Democrat call fellow US servicement baby killers...yes
You need a history lesson and some facts before you try to go there.
Didnt a Democrat dodge the draft and go to Russia while we were at war with Communist forces.
Since you obviously wouldn't know the answers to those questions here are the answers:
John F. Kennedy, Jane Fonda, John Kerry and Bill Clinton....you know, your heroes.

I would pull the troops out too if the funding was cut. This is not a disaster nor a civil war. What general has said that?

Apples and oranges my friend. It was Kennedy who sent us to Vietnam and Johnson who turned it into a quagmire, besides those two differences there are many others, it was also the Demarcates that pushed for more restrictive rules of engagement and Kennedy who limited us from crossing south into north Vietnam and Cambodia in pursuit of the enemy.
Do some research before you post something like this.
The parallels you are showing are that Democrats limited the troops and "defunded" them in Vietnam and are doing it again now.
Democrats imposed ridiculously over restrictive rules of engagement in Vietnam and are doing it again.

I am a Viet Nam Vet and served under Nixon.
It was the democrat congress that cut off funding that finally got Nixon to end the "Police Action".
Also we had a signed peace treaty with the North.
Unfortunately, just like Iran and N Korea today they did not honor the treaty.

Really? I didn't know that Jane Fonda was a republican. That explains her photo posing on with the NVA on an anti-aircraft gun.
