Personally, I think women generally speaking crave weddings, but not marriage.
Look at the stats. The wedding industry targets women as customers.
However, when it comes to looking at who ends the marriage, in 2/3rds of all divorces filed, it was a woman seeking the divorce.
These are not all unfaithful, abusive men. Many divorces are filed by unfaithful women.
So, given that women file the majority of divorces, I'm not convinced that women crave marriage. They seem to want to end marriages in greater number than men, so how can one say women crave marriage?

I don't think that men or woman crave marriage. I think that men and women get married because they want to be with the other person for ever, not because they feel that they have to. If you feel that you have to get married because you have been with a person for a particular length of time or because you have children or for those reasons then there is something wrong and the chances are the marriage will not last, at least that is what I think.

Speaking from a Man's perspective, I can tell you that in America, men and women generally speaking feel the same way about marriage. In other words, some men want to get married, some don't. Some women do, some don't. As far as specific ratios, I can't give you hard numbers, but I can tell you some people, men and women, just don't want to get married. Others spend their whole lives searching for "the one". Sure, some men may have fantasies about having a harem of video hoes, probably more so than women do about having a stable full of 50 cent(s), but that doesn't mean that all those men don't want to get married, just that they have an active imagination. Some men marry out of obligation, some do it cause they want to (but never realized it before), some jump right in as if it were as natural as breathing, and some run away as soon as the woman starts wondering why he hasn't asked yet. All men are different, just like all women.

I am a woman who has been married. Growing up I never dreamed of my wedding or what my husband would look like. I thought about having children and i knew that a husband was just necessary--but craving, no. So I think it's about the individual. Society also plays a role in how we think about marriage; for men it's the end of freedom and for a woman it's the beginning of life. But the most important influence is how that person's idea of marriage was formed: were their parent's happily married, divorced, never met their father, mom had a lot of boyfriends, father was a cheater, etc.. Most men I know have expressed a desire to marry, they are just waiting for that 'one'. Could it be you?

There are 2 seperate questions here~! I dont think that MOST men crave marriage like women do, however, I have met a FEW men that wanted marraige as much as a women would.........,but overall no they dont~! I dont think that a majority of men get married because they feel like they have to and if they do they are really stupid~! :) :)

I think men feel like ther are forced to. I don't know why women always think they have to be married. I seems like when a couple dates for 2 or more years the girl always is wanting to get married and wants to know "why won't he ask me to marry him?" Why do they need to be married so badley. It dosen't change anyhting if you are already living together. I don't get it.

I honestly dont know...you would think that if men wanted to get married as much and as bad as women do that those women who are single (Me) wouldnt have such a hard time finding dates and etc.

I think it's hard to tell, but for the ones that wants to be married they will let that be known..but it seems to me that the most of them would like to be in a long relationship but no strings such as marriage..seems like they get scared off for some reason..

It is not appritiatable at all that you marry some one because you have to do. and about crave..i'll say that it depends on the type of the man.
i believe all man's are not the same.
