People say that it is good for them to do it but some people think that it is wrong and may have a bad reaction towards them such as a bad rep. or other bad influences. How does that work though?

Because the athletes might get caught and end up with a criminal record.

I think the only people who think it's wrong are the ones who are using and don't want to get caught. Everything in life has rules, and if you choose to still use, then you shouldn't participate. For the ones who don't use and feel offended, it's their choice whether or not to participate. But if they know they haven't done anything wrong, then they have nothing to worry about. The guilty ones do. Plus, being in sports is exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle. Drugs will never be healthy.

Ha. If you took drugs then you did, if you dont want bad rep then dont take them.. simple.
