Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A relationship is based on physical attraction and having similar likes to that person. Inner beauty should always prevail over physical beauty as physical beauty doesn't last for ever

When it comes to sustaining a long term relationship, inner beauty is more important. But when it comes to starting a relationship, physical beauty is more important.

A lot of people have answered saying inner beauty will last forever, but bad experience in life, illness, waking up next to someone in bed and realising you don't fancy them any more . . .

We all have weaknesses. Can we improve our own 'inner beauty'? Try not to be too influenced by the superficial, but remember to get some fun out of life too.

Yes, but not by much because when if it comes down to it your not going to be with someone who's stupid for a long long period of time. But physical beauty is also important because you should at least be physically attracted to them somewhat if you plan on staying with them. You dont want to shudder every time you think about kissing them.

yes, although it it nice to have both....lol. In a long term relationship, beauty needs to be there on the outside, once the looks are gone with someone who isnt good inside, you have someone who is ugly on the outside and ugly on the inside, I have found that with a relationship that I was in that my partners looks didnt actually go, but because he was so horrible to me all of the time I started to see him as ugly inside and out.....you can only look at someones growling face so long before they just look like they born that way....lol, so yes, to me inner beauty is more important as I wouldnt ever want to be in a relationship like that again in my life.

Physical beauty is like a bad joke that the universe plays on some of us. Its like a rug that we stand on for a while that eventually gets jerked out from under us.

Inner beauty is not so fickle.

Inner beauty all the way. I'm old and wrinkly now, kind of chubby too so I have to rely on my character to keep my relationships going.

Yes. For short term purposes, physical beauty is usually of greater interest, but anyone who has tried to have a long term relationship with someone who is physically attractive but had a personality that was either unpleasant or simply not compatible with their own knows that such an arrangement doesn't work for very long. It is fun to be with someone who really appeals to you physically, but it is deeply fulfilling to be with someone who is highly compatible with you, and who you thoroughly enjoy talking to and spending time with. If you don't enjoy one another's company for its own sake, then your relationship will not give you happiness.

Yes, if you're young inside and fun loving then that's probably the most important thing in a relationship as you get older.
