I'm going through exactly the same thing. I put make-up on and my skin goes flaky in patches. (I don't think central heating and cold weather helps.) I've also had to switch to Head and Shoulders shampoo for the first time.
On Sunday I came out in a red blotchy rash over half my face - it only last a couple of hours and didn't hurt but looked hideous. My cheeks also go red quite quickly and can feel like they are burning. I also thought I might be "glowing" by this stage but not quite like this!
I use this for dry skin patches - it's dear but it works over make-up.

Don't panic. With my last pregnancy I had glowing skin and thick beautiful hair that I could probably go 4-5 days without washing because it was so healthy. This pregnancy is total opposite. I've had acne and my hair gets oily by the end of the day, which I have never experienced before. I've read it's just due to hormones and that it's perfectly normal. The good news is that I'm 15 weeks and I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that my acne and oily hair are diminishing. I believe by the end of your first trimester, you'll begin to notice changes as your body stops producing so much progesterone once the placenta is fully formed. Best wishes.

Its all due to hormones. Some women look better and others get drained of everything. Sounds like ur baby is zapping ya.
Be sure to take ur vitamins. Its very common to have skin problems during pregnancy but many sites can give u suggestions to help decrease the effects.
Your hair should eventually line out once u have enough vitamins in your system. I used head and shoulders shampoo to decrease the effects of pregnancy and have had really good luck out of it. My hair is so full and shiny now, its great.
The only thing to do is trial and error. Ask your doctor if he suggests anything. Maybe change make up. Try a moisturizer for sure or baby lotion if you can.
GOod luck and congrats! U may be having all these things happen, but its still worth it hun. Pregnancy is an amazing thing and once u begin feeling that baby kick inside of you, u will forget all about the other stuff.

I have had some issues too. Talk with your doctor, but until you do know that you are not alone. My nails are horrible, splitting and cracking like never before and I have the dandruff as well, not to mention acne on my chin. My doctor said that women react differently to pregnancy and that I shouldn't worry as long as I continue my prenatal vitamins. He said to try a dandruff shampoo which has helped. I also find that I have itchy dry flaky skin on other parts of my body which I am constantly trying to moisturize. Just remember that before you try any remedies check with your doctor to be sure they are safe. I hope things get better for you! Good luck.

That's what I though when I was pregnant. I looked (spots, greasy hair, no matter how much I washed it, bloated and yukky!) and felt awful through most of my pregnancy. Some women bloom and others don't. Pregnancy did not agree with me one bit, however when you hit about 6 months, your hair will be lovely and thick and shiny, you won't feel so tired, and you will glow even if you do not bloom, you wil still glow (promise!) and you will feel great.
There is lots of good stuff while you are waiting though! Don't panic!

My hair and skin were both a huge mess when I was pregnant. Both times!! It feels awful but all I can recommend would be to buy products that fit the condition your hair and skin are both in right now. Try to fight it the best you can. Good luck and congrats!!

sweetie your face does break out during pregnancy, but it sounds like what they call the winter skin itch that you are describing here along with the dandruff, it should clear in the next 4 weeks when the weather breaks good luck and best wishes

Hormones go on the rampage when you're pregnant. I've developed acne on my back pretty regularyly since I got pregnant, where before it was every now and then. It should get better in about 9 months!!

I have the same problem in early pregnancy it's all those hormones like when I'd get my period I'd get a pimple on my chin well with my pregnancies I'd have like pimples in various places on my face and I can't wait for that to end it doesn't last forever though thank goodness.
