I just read that Emma Watson refused to sign a contract for the last two Harry Potter films. My initial feeling is that it's going to totally mess up the atmosphere of the movies with a brand new actress. What do you think?

Without Emma Watson playing Hermione, the last two movies will ultimately suffer. It was easier for them to get a new Dumbledore after Sir Richard Harris passed away because they had only made one movie. However, Emma Watson's been there since the beginning. When most people think of Hermione, they think of Emma Watson. That choice may destroy her career, too. She's already going to be typecast - why not finish the last two movies?

Where did you read that? I would be very upset bc after 4 movies - the characters are seriously associated with these actors. It wouldn't be the same. I hate it when they do that (Dumbledore was different bc that guy passed - but the new Dumbledore is still not as good...and he made 2 movies, not one) Daniel Radcliffe already announced he will play Harry til the end of the series - they announced that 1 or 2 weeks ago, he has already signed the contract. Can you tell me where you got the info? =)

Worse. It messes up the whole film when they have to change the actress. Besides she should sign. Harry Potter made her popular she owes the movies that much.

Oh My GOD! They can not take her away! Like you said, that would mess up the whole movie! It would be weird seeing a different face, when all these movies it was Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson!

It would be a little weird. I was under the impression that the actors had to sign on for all 7 of the movies right from the beginning. I guess I'm wrong though.

I guess I understand her reasoning behind it, but I think she should have done it. It's only 2 more movies, and it's dumb for her to stop wanting to be known as the girl from Harry Potter since that's the main thing in her career. She should be glad she got that oppurtunity, not ungrateful.

A change of actors for Hermione, Ron or Harry would be disastrous for the last of the films.

well considering Daniel Radcliff has said this is his last harry movie it doesn't really surprise me that Emma doesn't want to play Hermoine anymore too.....they all think they're getting to old to play the parts... though I do hope they'll change their minds....Harry won't be Harry without Daniel and Hermoine just wouldn't be the same without Emma...
