I am coloured blind, but still see some distortion occasionally through my glasses.

If the distortion and the color dispersion you are seeing through the lens is truly from chromatic aberration, cleaning it won't help. Chromatic aberration results from the lens dispersing the different wavelengths of the visible spectrum slightly differently. As a result, the different colors end up being focused at slightly different focal lengths. It's the lens itself that is messing it up. Being color blind doesn't negate seeing blurry images from chromatic aberration. Even though you won't see the color dispersion, you are still seing the image focused at different focal lengths on your retina.

To correct it, you would need to get higher quality lenses.
