My idea of paradise is serenity. A place devoid of disturbance. Peaceful natural sounds, maybe some lapping waves. The light sound of wind caressing the leaves. Soft white sand below me. A hint of a sweet scent, some flowers somewhere behind me. Warm water, with a long sand bar in front of me.
That sounds like paradise to me. As to whether or not it exists, you tell me.

My idea of paradise would be to have a house somewhere quiet and peaceful, with a nice garden where I could relax each summer with cold drinks and some good books.

My idea of paradise is to be with someone I love and trust completely and to know that he feels the same for me.
To be more altruistic, to think about an Earth that has freedom from starvation for everyone where no child is terrorised or abused. One can go on and on-------

The paradise and hell are both inside each one of us. Paradise doesn't exist without knowing of hell. How would you know of paradise if you haven't experienced hell first? Your paradise can be anything which is a release from hell. For the person who haven't walked for years paradise is in the step made on his own, for the blind - it's in the daylight, for hardworking - holiday, and for me - it is in prayer.

A little cottage style house in the country, but also on the ocean. In Maine. No houses nearby. No people nearby. I would grow my own food. It would rain alot and we would get snowstorms once a week all winter. I would have a fireplace. I would have horses and dogs and other animals. Money would never be an issue.

Paradise is A total and complete lack of judgment.

The moment we start to judge we find something that we wish was some other way and Paradise is lost to us.

This is the meaning of the garden of Eden story in the bible. The fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is a metaphoric reference to judgment. So long as Adam and eve were not judging anything they were in paradise. They were aware that all of it was a gift from God so it was all perfect. As soon as they partook of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, ( started judging things) Paradise was forever lost to them.

We are exactly the same, the moment we start judging we find something that is not pleasing to us and it makes us unhappy.

The way back to paradise is to simply suspend judgment. Easier said than done.

Sanbox69s answer is a perfect example of how judgment works. He sees him self as being in paradise because he has judged the things that he named in his answer as being paradise.

But what happens if something about one of these things changes?

By judging these thing as being requirements for his paradise to exist he has set himself up to fall.

Read these answers carefully because the longer your list of things that are necessary for happiness/paradise the less likely one is to ever find it.

Love and blessings Don

A place where people understand the value of self control and mutual social co-operation; where governments, police and flags are obsolete and where nobody judges or tries to implement rules, systems of belief or idols to worship. A world where we all have the freedom to explore the unknown to voice our understanding and make perfect music.
