Foxes and jakals are relative of dogs and closer to them than they are to cats.

From Wikipedia---> Canidae is the family of carnivorous and omnivorous mammals commonly known as canines. It includes dogs, wolves, foxes, coyotes, dingoes and jackals.

These animals are all digitigrades, meaning they walk on their toes.

From Wikipedia -------> The Felidae family includes the Lion, the Tiger, the Domestic Cat, and other cats as its members. They are the most strictly carnivorous mammals of the nine families in the order Carnivora.

The most familiar feline is the Domestic Cat or House Cat, which first became associated with humans thousands of years ago.

Its wild relative, the Wildcat, still lives in Europe, Africa and western Asia, although habitat destruction has restricted its range. Whether the Domestic Cat and the Wildcat should be classified as separate species remains controversial, but the most recent classification separates them.

Other well-known members of the feline family include big cats such as the Lion, the Tiger, the Leopard, the Jaguar, the Cougar, and the Cheetah, and other wild cats such as the Lynx, the Caracal, and the Bobcat.

Dogs...
The fox is a group of 27 discreet species that are distantly related to wolves, coyotes and dogs, all from the canid family. The fox, however, is not a dog, and cannot breed with a dog.
