Click start >click run >type in msconfig click on the startup tab then uncheck everything there except your anti virus and internet connection . Click ok and your computer will restart . Then see if your computer locks up when you go on the internet.

if it still locks up then
1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://spywarekiller.hyperboards.com/index.php?action=view_topic&topic_id=4 do that now .Update it http://www.spybot.info/en/howto/update.html (latest updates on 14th march 2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html

then run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

I think there is something wrong with your browser.. Internet Explorer....

Try to download any other free browser.. like Mozilla Firefox is great... Or upgrade your existing Internet Explorer to the latest version from Microsoft... IE7. That can help you resolve the issue... Recently I had my friend who was complaining about gmail, when he logs into gmail his Internet Explorer locks and after some time everything closes. Dont know why but I upgraded his laptop to IE7 and it started working fine...

All the best...

well a couple of thoughts occur, delete history and cookies, i know this sounds simple but i've seen computers where this has never been done- tools internet optiuons and you'll see it alittle harder to find in IE 7 Otherwise it could be a browser highjacker-run a good anti-spyware
