THE BIG NOTHING

2007-03-19 04:31:59 · answer #1 · answered by Lorenzo Steed 7 · 0 0

I don't really think that the big bang was the start of anything except this age of the universe. Before it there was another universe, perobably similar to this one which came to an end. The universe seems to be a cycle of creation and destruction. This 'universe' will end bringing the next 'universe' into existance.
Besides if matter cannot be destroyed nor created then how is having nothing possible before the big bang?

Nothing before the big bang had to be a potential, the potential had to be finite or it would have had no way to be able to initiate the circumstances that resulted the the single space-time pulse that was the precursor of our universe.
The universe is a finite entity before the first space-time pulse it did not exist, but the nonexistence was finite.
When the universe goes out of existence it will enter a state of eternal nothing.
It will be the end of an incident that will never happen again

You ask how to describe it, and then you took a wild guess. What makes you think that 'nothing' is a valid guess?

Before the big bang, there was no space-time. The big bang does not identify or deny the presence of space or time.

There wasn't anything before the big bang.(at least hypothetically....) There was no time, no space, no matter, no energy. Even an "empty void" would be *something.* When I say "nothing", I really mean nothing.

In every sense of the word there really was nothing!

Reality did not exist. Nothing existed. You can't even make the statement: "before the big bang," since there was no such thing.

The best explanation I've seen is in Stephen Hawkings _A Brief History of Time_. It's quite involved....but the shorthand it is the complete absence, not only of "stuff" (matter/energy), but also of space and time. In a certain sense, it isn't even correct to say "before" the big bang, because time itself came into existence at that moment.

Okey check this out..
Nothing as you stated,Nothing but blackness
empty nothingness,BUt something from somewhere came into this galaxey and poped.
This something was a supercollider.
This is what the big bang was,
same as the world made, the world will go out,
God made the world in six days, he also made other worlds long before he made this one. There are so many worlds out there that are way smarter then we are,
Realy do you think that we are the only ones.
them little guys in them ships are messengers of God,He made them first
they was here way way before the dinosures

well, strictly speaking you can't... there is no time before the big bang so you can't talk about something that is not described on time....
This is if you assume the big bang as the "beginning of time"...

got yourself in a mess....

A dimensionless and infinite absolute void, totally without energy, matter, or spacetime.

God is was and always will be. As scientific as this world is, no man can fully explain all of Gods works. So why not stop the pouting already and admit He exsists??
