My 12 year old granddaughter's half sister who is a little over a year younger was whining yesterday that their adopted 6 year old sister broke her favorite pencil. My daughter was there to pick my grandaughter up so she started questioning her. Seems the brat left her pencil on the floor in the basement and the adopted sister accidentally left the basement door open and the dog went downstairs and chewed the pencil up. So whose fault is it?
The animal.
The adopted sister or
The bratty sister who left it on the floor in the first place?

Work with me here! I really dislike this kid!

The kid is NOT related to me. She is the daughter of my granddaughter's father to whom my daughter was never married.

Plus she does this ALL the time! She usually gets away with it and frequently manages to get one of the other kids into trouble. When my granddaughter goes for the weekend IF her two step sisters are also there, there are six kids there altogther.

I don't get why you people aren't getting this! I know how Daria feels!!! My daughter fell in love, got pregnant. She found out about the "other woman" during this time. There was much "fighting" over him mostly by the other woman. HE couldn't make a commitment either way. The other woman got pg while HE was supposed to be trying to make it work with my daughter and his first baby. Much more fighting (mostly by the other woman) ensued. To cut it short, my daughter realized he would never stay faithful to her (as he has not to the other woman). He eventually married the other woman as she was about to deliver his only son.

While I hate what he did I do not hate him for my granddaughter's sake. I try to get along with them all.

I do not, however, have a place in their family nor will I ever. I do not want to. I dislike that the brat is mean to my granddaughter constantly and gets away with it. Now the 6 yr. old is suffering.

I dont think you should dislike the kid - how come she's adopted? seems to me like you dont like her cause shes not real flesh and blood. all kids whine, and leave things laying around!! Grow up please, and treat these kids like equals!!!

additional info: My eldest daughter is not my husbands child, yet he loves her like she is his, and she feels the same way. His parents have NEVER treated her differently, and love her the same as their NATURAL grandchildren. you seem to have problems lady. Lets hope your daughter is more loving than you!

I understand that things must have been difficult. I have three daughters of my own, and obviously hope that one day they meet someone and are happy. Things didnt work out for your daughter - she got her daugher out of it and a lot of heartache it sounds. I am sorry for that. My first husband - the father of my eldest daughter - physically abused me for 6 years until i became free of him. Luckily for me, he was not allowed to see my daughter (the courts ruled a no!) and his parents had both passed away. Like i said earlier, my husband treats this girl like she is his own, as do his family. I understand that things havent been easy, but she is just a kid. She is probably very unhappy - sounds like her father is an ****, and this affects everyones homelife. Just try to see her as a little girl - not just the daughter of the nasty man that hurt YOUR daughter. I hope things do work out for you, and that your daughter and grandchildren are happy - including this little girl.

Don't make it a "Days of our Lives" moment. They are kids, they do things like that. It is a pencil, move on. Don't be a kid hater! You have bigger issues than a pencil. Step up and teach the kids some respect and discipline, don't be a side-line participant in the kids life. You have an official role to play no matter what the family tie! Be an adult!

It was the bratty sister. But.......for a grandmother you are being mean. Most kids whine and cry for attention and maybe this bratty sister is not getting enough of it. For her to whine and cry at 11 over a pencil means she has a bigger problem and I hope she gets some help to work through it.

she may be a brat but she is only a child and it's not necessarily the fault of the child that she is a brat-it is the fault of the parents for letting her get away w/ the things she does-as it is only a pencil, it's not really anyone one person's fault-the 'brat' should not have left her things out and if the basement door is to be kept shut then the six yr old is also at fault-if they all live together you need to learn to accept them all!♥

The girl who left the pencil on the floor is to blame. I also dislike whiners and blamers. Just buy the kid a new pencil and be done with it! It seems like a simple solution, they cost about 10 cents nowadays right? Good luck!

Ungreatful brat! i've got found out it a pair months in the past. this is been this way because of the fact of on the grounds that i've got moved each and every thing replaced, i've got not got many acquaintances and that i'm often with my dad. i think this is why i'm getting spoiled. My dad would not like seeing me unhappy. and that i wish I have been greater greatful, no longer that i'm no longer.. I do merely no longer prepare it as lots.

Lady, let me tell you something. I married a woman who has a wonderful little girl by a previous relationship. regardless of the fact that she is not a blood relative, that little girl is MY DAUGHTER. She considers me her Dad. Furthermore, my parents didnt hesitate for a second to accept her as their newest grandaughter, even though they already have 8 other grandchildren. Its about family and love. Your blood grandaughter is no more perfect than the other girl. They are both children
