I am looking into getting a mini crib for the new baby. I used a regular crib with my first, but she was in a toddler bed at the age of 8 months. The mini cribs convert to a toddler bed instead of converting to a full or twin. If you have used a Mini crib please tell me your experiences with this bed.

I'm going to buy a mini crib for my son (due in June) and haven't seen any that convert to toddler beds, so I'm not exactly which mini cribs you are referring to. But just yesterday, my fiance and I went to stores and looked at the displays of mini cribs, and they are space-saving and sturdy. We made sure they were sturdy by shaking them. I also like how they can be wheeled around so I can have him in my room for the first few months and then easily move him into his nursery later on. They looked easy to assemble, as well, and I think that they are a good investment if you live in a small place.

I'm not sure about mini cribs that convert to a toddler bed...I've never seen those. I have several portable/foldable cribs that I use for my in-home daycare. I absolutely love them! The are safer for little babies to sleep in than a pack n play but don't take up as much room as a full-size crib. They fold flat in seconds so you can take it with you or stick in a closet. Ours holds a baby up to 50 lbs which is pretty darn big!
