Religions originate in the regions when there is such a need and there was none to guide the people. Hinduism developed from the principle of non-violence and tolerance. That is why in India you can witness multi cultured people living in harmony by and large(the present strife is due to global disturbances) In Hinduism there is no particular mode of worship of a single form. Several forms of God are worshiped. Even nature was worshiped in the beginning. They worship the Sun god and even snakes. It is not superstition. They consider all things as manifestation of God only. Hindus believe in the theory of Karma and its fruits. In order to enjoy the fruits of karma, it takes many births. Birth in this earth is considered bondage and no joy. Hence they pray God to grant them liberation from this earthly existence.
