Oh my! Well, I'd let her know straight up what happened and be apologetic and a peace offering. It's a very odd mistake, honestly, but an apology is in order. If the police are called, let them know exactly the same thing. Chances are, they'll probably roll their eyes and laugh and be on their way. If your story is real and I'm sure it is, then since they'll match to all parties, chances are nothing at all will happen. She just won't hang her laundry up outside anymore =)

Think you are having us on? If you're not just apologise again and tell the truth. If she got there on time you haven't actually stolen anything and don't think the police will really do much about it. PS If this isn't just a tall story all you would need is your spectacle prescription from your optician to prove how bad your eyesight is.

i might evaluate photographing my neighbours' undies on their clothing line, yet they may be neighbours from a number of streets away and the purpose of taking the photograph may be to deliver it to the valuables administration corporation that shelter the residences I stay in to illustrate that a showering line is an invaluable laundry accessory to have, and that the super expanse of unused grass around my residences (which i might additionally image) may be an suited region for such an merchandise. i might additionally take a image of my very very own undies (and different washing) draped around my flat because it consistently is by technique of the fact i'm no longer allowed to place in a showering line on the aforementioned unused grass. yet yeah, i think of it incredibly is a rechargeable offence.

I presume you have a shared garden otherwise it would be a bit hard for her to swallow that it was a mistake.

Well the lesson here is that if you can't see well enough to distinguish your clothes from hers then you should be wearing glasses all the time.

put your glasses on and return them and say sorry and explain to her what happened and then build a fence between the clothes lines so it does not happen again...that way if you happen to do it again you will run into the fence and hit your face and realize OOPS... wrong way....
