My daughter was born with hearing problems and was learning to communicate with sign language. But she had gromitts fitted and these really helped her and along with long term medication she was able to hear more and more and eventually by the time she was ten she could hear pretty well. She couldn't articulate properly until she was about 15 years old, but now you'd never know she'd had a problem.

No but one of my sisters is deaf in one ear... well almost so when people talk to her on their right side she doesnt really hear them, so people think shes being rude, but really she just cant hear you...

Yes,my son is hard of hearing in both ears.He has had so many tubes in his ears but he has pernament hearing loss.

no but my uncle is 50% deaf and they wont let him in the military but get this: they will let a blind person in but not a deaf one.

A lot of kids are whether it is selective or the real thing
These kids need to see your face when you talk to them so they know to direct their attention

Not yet, but I will. My hearing loss is genetic, as is my fiancee's. We're thrilled!
