Schools even have policys that punish them for being smart.

There is no evidence that any ethnic or regional grouping of people are smarter than any other. This question raises several other question: How does one define "Asian?" Who are "normal" people? Does doing well on tests mean that a person is intelligent?
If "normal" means the average American student, then the answer to why students from many non-Western cultural traditions do well in tests might be related to the time those students spend studying.

Asians are not smarter. They just study harder than anyone else. It is also due to their parents putting pressure on them to achieve in their studies so they can have better jobs than their parents did in their native country where educational opportunities were scarce for them. You should not generalize that Asians are smarter then normal people, not all asians are smart you know and some so work hard but do not receive the best grades.

No. It has to do with the culture, expectations of the parents, work ethic, value of education, personal discipline and the burning desire to succeed. Since I know the United States doesn't punish their Asian decent students for intelligence and diligence I'm shocked another country would also as they could contribute to their society more-so. How sad.

They are not, everyone can achieve what they achieve, it is not that they are smart, it is that they push themselves to the limit. Look at most Asian families, the parents encourage and push the children to be good at everything they do, from math to orchestra to computers. Most American parents don't do this, they simply sit the kids in front of the television and let it act as a baby sitter.

Wherever did you get it that Asians are smarter than other people, and who are "regular" people? Please tell me the schools that punish them for being smart, because that would be discrimination of the worst sort.

i would also point to the old civil service examination in china, which shows a history and enduring legacy devoted to academics and studying hard and discipline
failure and disgrace is also extremely taboo in asian cultures

They apply themselves.It is in their culture to strive to do better where as some cultures,it is an insult to do better than your father.So they will always wash dishes or join gangs.You guess which ones.No one is smarter than anyone else ,it is environment.
