I own an HP Media Center PC & find it to be absolutely flawless.

This unit is now in my living room because it is my TV tuner, video recorder, photo album & stores all my CDs.
Everything is viewed on my bigscreen TV & controlled via remote.

Guests at my home just can't get over it.
Go for an AMD 5000+ or an Intel E6400 or higher.

No proprietary parts whatsoever.
Top rated service & support.
Excellent package deals.

regards,
Philip T

i don't know you're price range. but if you have the funds, i would go with velocity micro. much better build and support than dell, or hp. velocitymicro.com. dell is much more geared toward business than home users. i have owned 4 dells, 2 hp's built a few of my own. when i went to build two new machines for vista. the same components from velocity micro were a little cheaper than me building. they are a top notch outfit. just my opinion. good luck..

Well you said new, have you considered a used one? you can buy used IBM for about 200 dollars, they are sold to corporate and then returned. Our IT guy has been doing this for about a year and this has worked out great.
good luck
