Well, I hope there is time, still, for this message to reach you.
I am appalled at the bad and unfounded advise you have received. You must be questioning why you are being induced by your "midwives", and you are right to do so and question their methods.
Firstly, remember, if Castor oil does not work for Sunshine, up there, it does not mean it will not work for you. What she is not telling you because she does not know it, is the following truth:
" There is a much higher incidence of uterine rupture in chemically induced labors than in spontaneous labors."
"Pitocin induction is more apt than a spontaneous labor to result in a vacuum-extractor or forceps delivery or a cesarian section because of fetal distress stemming from too strong uterine contractions." ("Given intravenously, [the Pictocin] dose is far larger than that which is naturally secreted in early labor)...doubles the odds of the baby being born in poor condition because the extra-hard contractions it can cause interfere with the flow of oxygen-rich blood from mother to baby...Some women undergo attempted Pitocin induction for three or four days without ever going into effective labor."
As if all this was not enough, there is also the added risk of "an increased incidence of postpartum hemorrhage".
Perhaps, your best course of action would be: tell your midwives:"I will re-schedule very soon." Remain calm, don't
stress. Go with your instincts - they are tuned, otherwise you would not be perplexed. At this stage, even if it is near your time, make sure you are in the right hands. You are smart. When your labor starts, stay Home as long as you can - that way you will be avoiding, I think, what has come to be known as "hospital Hype" - in another words, dangerous and unnecessary interferences.
I regret having to tell it to you this way, but there is little time and I do not want to lie.

I got induce last Monday at 3 cm and 90% efface.( I was contracting every 5 minutes and didn't even know it, when they hooked me up to the monitors.) I got an epi about an hour after they hooked me up to the Pitocin. It helped me relax alot. And the labor flew by. In fact the doctor almost didn't make it there. They didn't strip the membranes. I wouldn't do. I would not do castor oil it will probably only give you cramps not contractions. My advice would be just wait and see what happens between now and Friday. I know you are excitied. But it will happen. Just keep walking that helps a ton. And go and get some raspberry leaf tea. It softens the cervix. It won't give you contractions. But it should help you along a little bit. Good luck and I hope this helped....

I had my membranes stripped and it helped a lot. I would not recommend the castor oil as i have heard from friends that it can cause the sh^its and that is no fun. Im not gonna lie, but inducement sucks but it gives u plenty of time to decide on an epidural. good luck and i hope all goes well

The membrane sweep is fine, but skip the castor oil. Really, being induced is not so bad. I prefer it actually. Castor Oil can cause the baby to have a bowel movement in the womb, and that ould be bad for both of you.

Well, I can definately say that the castor oil does work. I mixed it with Orange Juice and I haven't had any orange juice now for 18 years. Believe me it works, but you might be better doing the induced under a Drs care. Good luck to you and I do know where your coming from. My first was two week late.

I would just wait until the induction. Having your membranes stripped is not a pleasant experience and Castor oil will make you very very sick.
I too was a week and a half late with my son who was born in October and the induction was a long and hard process which lasted me 42 hours until they finally went the c-section route. I would rest up instead of making yourself miserable with the membrane stripping and Castor oil.

What they are doing is starting with the least "nasty" means of inducing labor. Even if what they do does not induce labor, it may help think the cervix or cause other changes that will help with the delivery. If you do not go into labor with the stripping or oil, they will use the Pitocin. Ask for an epidural!

hi, for a extra distinctive answer, right here you circulate, i replaced into prompted with all 3 of mine, reason, because of the fact my physique didnt produce the hormone to start exertions. Being prompted itself does not harm. All they do is initiate pitocin in an IV and in all probability harm your water and/or strip the membranes. That hurts! had to get all that achieved with my final one and nevertheless had a c-area. The pitocin will make contractions come extra stable and extra suited so in essence, confident its hurts, yet its the comparable exertions pains, in basic terms somewhat extra extreme. Up area, exertions is going swifter. wish this facilitates, stable good fortune and God Bless you and your new toddler

I would just keep having the sex until friday and see if that works before then, but believe me! i WOULD NOT try the castor oil! you will regret it! you will never get that taste out of your mouth!! and if your body does decide to hold it in (without getting sick) it will come out other parts! so think twice! and good luck and god bless!
