no just make sure it stays on your computer or else everything will be gone but once you have your new i pod hook it up to your computer with all your music and you may have to click a button that pops up saying copy all music to i pod or something like that but it will automatically download all your songs and playlists. If you need more information visit apple.com about that or ask them when you go there to buy your new i pod on how to transfer all your old music to your new i pod and they'll be glad to help

No. Anything that is DL into itunes will be there unless you delete it. If you have anything on your ipod that isn't in itunes, copy it into a new folder, then import it into itunes. (you might want to copy EVERYTHING into a new folder, just as a back-up) When you sync the new one, it should all be added. I've moved music back and forth between computers and ipods and have never lost a single thing. If you've purchased music from itunes, you may have to "deauthorize" then "reauthorize" the computer under the new ipod for it to transfer.

yes. if you have all the songs on your ipod on a computer ,cd thumb drive or somewhere you can get your hands on it then no but if you don't then once you connect your old ipod to your computer then the songs will delete once it syncs but it will let you know first. if you a detailed list of the songs you have then by all means get them on your computer pronto before you do anything else or all hope is lost. hope that helps.

If the songs are only on the Ipod and not on the computer you are SOL. You cannot transfer songs from ipod to computer.
