Yes, Germany has - you have to be 18 years old to serve in the German military forces.

If you don't want to serve in the military, you can also make "Zivildienst" in Germany, an good explaination of this is here (in English): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zivildienst

And no, Germany is in no war with another nation. But, German troops are stationed in Afghanistan and also in some other countries, but they're at no war with any other nation at all.

Greetings from Germany....

Until the last 5 to ten years Germany had a fairly large conscript army. Normally a male had between the Age of 18 and 26 where he could be called up into service. You could either go into the military for a year or 18 months of civilian service. The pay really sucked about 400 DM or about 200euro a month.
With the fall of the Wall and reunification that requirement has been reduced to 9 months and the numbers of troops needed has been reduced so the chance that you can get called up is pretty slim.
Germany is not at war with anyone, most Germans have learned there lesson and since WW2 the German constitution forbids Germany using troops to do anything but defend Germany. Presently that has changed to support NATO, and the UN.

Yes, Germany has a military draft. Men at age 19 may be drafted into the national Bundeswehr for a period of nine months or chose some alternative civilian service.

There is a conscription in german military (Bundeswehr), but in reality only a rather small percentage has to join the army.

Germany is not at war with any other country! They also denied to follow GWB in his unjust war against Iraq (and was therefore connected to the "axis of evil" by that stupid texan). But they are contributing military forces to some mandates of the UN, e.g. in Afghanistan, Kongo, and Lebanon. After WW2 Germany is very hesitating/reluctant in sending troups into any area outside germany.

After boys finish high school, they must decide to either join the military or work in community service for at least a year. But I'm not sure if this includes girls as well. But there is no mandatory draft, and they are not at war (though I believe at some point they had troops in Iraq).
