Everybody is a follower of mainstream society to a degree. In what way do you mean? It's not very specific. Do you mean principally? Well then most people would be a follower of the mainstream otherwise everywhere would be in anarchy - or a new state would arise because everyone would be anarchic and finally there wouldn't be anything to rebel against that in order to rebel you would have to embrace the mainstream just to be different, by this time it will have been renamed the minorstream or something.

But if you mean music and arts and stuff - then no I don't. I like to make up my own mind about things.

the latter.
A society is a grouping of individuals, which is characterised by common interest and may have distinctive culture and institutions. In a society members can be from a different ethnic group. A "Society" may refer to a particular people, such as the Nuer, to a nation state, such as Switzerland, or to a broader cultural group, such as Western society. Society can also be explained as an organised group of people associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes.

I like to think I am a follower of mainstream society, but the truth of the matter is that I am really a non-conformist. I just do and think and act as I please most of the time where it is acceptable.

i don't think i am a follower. because what i feel inside and logically i do. even when making decesions it isn't always what others say or should do but what i weigh at the moment. i think a lot before i act. when i realise i made a wrong decesion or mistakes i try very hard not to repeat if possible. everyone must act with their consience even in politics most of all

i act as i please when I can, but the truth is we are not free at all, if we break the law we go to jail, if you dont pay your taxes you go to jail, I agree with laws against robbers murderers etc but some of silly petty laws, which are in the hundreds are frankly daft and oppressive

I pretty much think and act as I please. I do follow the rules that "need" to be followed, but one of my basic philosophies is: "Be sure to learn the rules so you can learn how to break them properly."
