How soon you think I can go into labor with these measurements from Dr.?

I will be starting 40 weeks tomorrow. March 20 is my due date and I also will have my Dr. appt. Last Thursday was my 39 week appt, and the Dr. checked my cervix and said I was 70% effaced and around 1 cm dialated only. The baby's head was stationed at -2 she said. Based on that, she said as this is my first baby, that I may go over due date by a week. I have been 1 cm and 70% effaced since my week 35, No new changes. Given this, how soon could I go into labor you think? Tomorrow actually my Dr. is scheduling me for induction on a day of the following week. Do you think I will have contractions on my own or my water will break before that induction? Just wondering as Dr. has done nothing uptil now and I guess after tomorrow my due date, they would decide what else to do right?

at 36 weeks i started having false labour at 36 weeks i was 70%effaced and 1 cms dialated week 37 i was 3 cms and 85%effaced and i didnt deliever till exactly week 41.. you could go any days but it still could be weeks

Hi there.
I don't know what to tell you. At 39 weeks, I was 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated at -1 station. At 40 weeks, I was 90% effaced and 1 1/2 cm dilated and still at -1 station. I am almost to 41 weeks and have the induction already scheduled. The baby is making no move to come out.
I have been looking on the web just as you are, trying to see if I can come up with some formula to figure it out. But there seems to be none.

Unless you are having a planned C-section, there is no exact science to knowing when your baby will be born. Even with a planned C-section, sometimes the baby has ideas of his own and decides to enter the world before the planned day. I have 4 children, all born between 5-11 days past their due date. So, I know how you are feeling, being so close to your due date and really wishing your baby would just come so you can stop being pregnant. With my son, who was born 11 days past his due date, I was effaced and dilated for 3 weeks. At every weekly appointment, my doctor would say, "Well, next time I see you will be at the hospital." I was scheduled for a non-stress test to see how an induction would affect him. My appointment was on a Monday morning and he was born on Sunday norning. With my middle daughter I was effaced and 2-3 centimeters for 6 weeks before my water broke at home. This time, at my weekly appointments, my doctor would only say, "Well, everything is all set and looking good, all you need to do now is go into labor." It is certainly possible you will go into labor on your own before the induction, but there is no gurantee anyone can make. Walk as much as you feel comfortable doing. Some people say having sex will sometimes trigger labor, but it never did for me. I also tried driving down bumpy roads, eating spicy foods, and scrubbing floors on my hands and knees (my grandma's suggestion), but nothing I did made my labor come on any faster than my body and my baby were ready.

I was 90% effaced and 5 cm dialated for 9 weeks. You could go into labor tomorrow, or it could be 2 weeks from now. You can never really tell.

well i have no clue at 33 weeeks i am 2 cm dialted and 50% effaced and i have a feeling i am going to be like this for a while. this is also my first baby. hope everything speeds up for you

I don't know when you will go into labor every women is different.But try some of these things that might help
Sex-5 stars
Spicy food-never tried but heard people say it works
Walking-2 stars tried with second child didn't
work for me but the hospital says that it works

in simple terms examine an editorial that suggested that they could were incorrect in putting forward that 37 weeks counts at finished time period. you should do each thing you are able to to shop that infant in in the route of 39 weeks. Sorry this isn't what you requested yet i imagine your infant should be more advantageous powerful off in case you in simple terms waited.
