I was told to boot up in BIOS which I did, the opitions are:
Floppy
LS120
+ Hard disk
CD Rom
Zip100e
USB-FDD
USB-ZIP
USB-CD ROM
Legacy IAN

I think these are wrong, but I have no idea about how to correct them, in order to get my computer to recognise my disk drive. Thanks.

When you go to the BIOS as your pc starts (By pressing F12), just scroll down to the Hard Disk and choose it, this would make it the default bootup drive..

Hope it helps

When you're in there, you can just highlight the drives one at a time and shuffle them into sequence using the up/down arrows.
Normally the sequence would be:
1: Hard Drive
2: CDROM or USB-CDROM
3: Floppy
Though you can put the CDROM first if you like, which will help if you ever want to boot from a CD; once it sees there's nothing in the CDROM it'll go straight on to the hard drive in normal service.
Make sure the BIOS has boot from USB enabled if applicable.

When installing an OS the boot sequence should be;
1: CDROM (Internal)
2: Floppy
3: USB-CDROM

When booting normally the sequence should be;
1: Hard Drive
2: CDROM or USB-CDROM
3: Floppy

Just make sure the BIOS has boot from USB enabled if applicable.

You simply need to go into BIOS (there's a key to press during the startup process) and specify the boot order to place your HDD ahead of USB devices. The default is often CD/DVD, USB, HDD so you can simply pop a system DVD or USB device in when you want to boot from them, without having to change your boot order.

open the advanced BIOS features page and scroll down to First Boot Device using the ↑↓ keys - select HDD-0
(however, regardless of how you configure the BIOS boot sequence, the BIOS will still attempt to detect and initialize the floppy drive. To stop this from happening you need to disable "Floppy Drive Seek" - scroll down to boot up floppy seek and select disabled. Remember that though this option will speed up the boot process, you will need to change it back in order to use your floppy drive - if you're still using it, that is!)

When you go into BIOS, highlight the hard disk ans move it to the top of the list, hit esc, save changes and you will boot from the hard drive.
