Both the above answer are wrong!
An over is complete when six legitimate balls have been bowled.

If the bowler over steps the bowling crease (No Ball) or if the bowler bowls a ball too wide to allow the batman a opportunity to hit it (Wide) then the bowler must bowl that ball again.

In the World Cup match last week it took a Bermudan bowler 14 balls to complete his over (6 no ball and 2 wides were bowled)

The record for the longest over is 17 balls by Sami of Pakistan

A One Day Game is made of 50 overs.

An over consists of six balls or bowls both in one day (limited overs) cricket and test (unlimited overs) cricket. In one day international cricket there are two innings each consisting of 60 overs. In test cricket there are 4 innings of unlimited overs. Each innings consists of one team batting and the opposing team bowling, therefore ona bat and bowl per team in OD cricke 2 per each in test

in all cricket not only one day an over is 6 balls and it ends when bowler bowl 6 balls.
if u are asking about length of 1 day match it is max 50 overs or 300 balls per team or if they all out before it. or second team make runs needed to win, the match is ended.
